Selston FC marked their long-awaited return to The Parish with an impressive 4–1 victory over Wirksworth Ivanhoe in the Central Midlands Alliance Premier South.

Playing at home for the first time in nearly three months due to the winter weather, Selston delivered a dominant performance against a Wirksworth side that had lost just three league games all season.

The hosts opened the scoring on 18 minutes when Alex Hardman glanced a superb header into the far top corner from a right-wing cross. Selston doubled their lead eight minutes later as Ty Short powered home a header from Jack Cockram’s corner.

Selston quickly reasserted their dominance after the break. Whitton restored the two-goal advantage on 55 minutes with another powerful header before Jordan Black added a fourth on 65 minutes, racing onto a long ball to nod home.

The result keeps Selston firmly in the promotion race as their strong run of form continues.
